What are fillers?
As we age, facial tissues begin to thin out and lines known as creases begin to etch around the nose, mouth and cheeks. Fillers are used to replace lost volume to help smooth these creases and lips. They are also used to plump your lips and restore your youthful and joyous appearance. Gel like substances called derman fillers are injected beneath the skin to restore lost volume and smoothen lines. Fillers are made with hyaluronic acid, calcium hydroxyapatite and autologous fat injections.
Why should I have fillers?
If you are left unhappy with your current facial appearance and the loss of volume around your nose, mouth and cheeks then fillers are an ideal solution. They are surgery free and have little to no risk. They are highly affordable and require no healing or recovery time. You can return to your normal activities the very next day and do not require hospitalisation.
How long is the procedure and what is done?
Derman fillers are a non-surgical procedure and are done at the clinic for a small period, most like an office visit. First you will undergo a consultation and meet your SALUSS surgeon who will explain the procedure and discuss your aims. The area is cleaned and prepped for treatment. Your surgeon will then inject a precise amount of filler strategically to contour your face.
Are there any risks or side effects?
Risks and side effects, though generally temporary, include bruising, bleeding, swelling, skin damage, lumps and skin rashes and itching.
How long do the results last?
Depending on the density and amount of filler injected, your fillers will last from 6 to 18 months. To maintain the results, you can always come back to SALUSS to continue treatment.
